Klaipeda Regional Development Agency responded to a question about how horizontal links work between the Agency and the local authority and private sector businesses. In fact the Agency is a separate organisation and works alone. There are no local authority elected politicians on the board. There is collaboration with, for example, the Chamber of Commerce on projects, but not on a daily basis. For example, the Agency is cooperating with the Chamber on a TACIS project, and there is another project involving cooperation with the municipality. Other development organisations exist in Klaipeda. For example there is a local economic development agency.
The activities/paid work of the Klaipeda Regional Development Agency could include work similar to that of the Euroteam in the Czech Republic The agency could also be on a list of consultees but is not active in policy development.
